Short Biography:
Elena Ermolenko started an academic career in St. Petersburg Pavlov State Medical University as a General Physician, later became a PhD student in Laboratory of the microbial genetics, Institute of Experimental Medicine of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, then PhD student in St. Petersburg Pavlov State Medical University.
Ph.d.: “Biological properties of uropathogenic Escherichia coli and the nature of their changes during the infection process”. Dissertation Project: “Lactic Acid Bacteria: personality action on pathogenic microorganisms, macroorganism and its microbiota” (obtained in December 2009) She has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals.

Current Research:
Research focus on antimicrobial activity of bacteriocins, microbiota, milk fermented products, medical significance of probiotics and autoprobitics, specific action of different strains of lactic acid bacteria on digestion, immune endocrine, cardiovascular  and nervous systems.
